To find new places to explore, I often just go to Google Maps and browse the area for green spaces. Sometimes this method works really well (it’s how I first discovered one of our favourite places, the Cole Harbour/Lawrencetown Coastal Heritage Park). Sometimes, not so much. If you didn’t spend time outside last weekend, you missed out. The weather was clear, the air was crisp and the sun was shining. We took full advantage by finally checking out the Spider Lake Trails.
We were looking forward to our first dogventure at Hemlock Ravine Park. This park is a Bedford institution, and we had heard there were off-leash areas. Plus, the weather last Sunday was nothing short of incredible. Continue reading
Graham’s Grove Park is one of those little nooks you can drive by a hundred times and hardly notice. It covers a small peninsula that juts out into Lake Banook, making for a lovely green space that is surrounded by water on three sides.
We decided to explore this gem a few weeks ago after the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Sullivan’s Pond Cenotaph. If you were there, I was the one in the back with the black lab going bonkers. Continue reading
