We love camping! We have yet to encounter a campground that didn’t allow dogs (that would just be ridiculous), but we’ve had better experiences at certain places than at others. Here are some of the campgrounds in N.S. we’ve visited.
- Blomidon Provincial Park (Click here to read about camping at Blomidon, or check out our list of The Top 3 Dog-Friendly Activities at Blomidon Provincial Park.)
- Kejimkujik National Park (We think Keji’s biggest asset is its backcountry. Click here to read about our experience.)
- Porters Lake Provincial Park (The tent sites are well-spaced, and many of them are on the lake. But beware: there are very sharp rocks at the bottom of this lake, and we had a mishap resulting in an emergency visit to the veterinarian for stitches. You have to book a site online and use a self check-in service. This campground is a little more rustic than some, e.g. outhouses.)
