We have only experienced the first 3 kilometers of this 13-km trail. That portion was crushed gravel, nice and flat, shady, and pretty. So yes, the B.L.T. Trail is as delicious as it sounds. The trail is busy, so we don’t recommend disobeying the on-leash signs. But it’s great for jogging, because of the pleasing terrain, kilometer markers, and numerous places along the way to stop for a dip in the lake.
From the B.L.T. Trail, you can access the Chain of Lakes Trail on one end, and the St. Margaret’s Bay Trail on the other end. The B.L.T. Trail is one piece of a continuous trail system that spans from Joseph Howe Drive in Halifax, all the way down the south shore, and back up to Kentville.
