MacCormack’s Beach & Fisherman’s Cove

MacCormack’s Beach and Fisherman’s Cove offer an unexpected and lovely east coast experience just a short drive from the City. Park your car and enjoy a stroll along the beach boardwalk with your pooch. You can walk from the boardwalk down to the beach to dip your toes (or paws) in the ocean (but be sure to respect the dunes). From the beach, make your way to Fisherman’s Cove along Government Wharf Road. The area is reminiscent of a true Nova Scotia fishing village. It features gift shops and fresh seafood.

How to Get There

Once you reach the Dartmouth side of the MacDonald Bridge, turn right onto Wyse Road. At the end of Wyse Road, turn left onto Windmill Road which turns into Alderney Drive.  Continue on Alderney Drive past the new King’s Wharf condos, and turn right onto Portland Street. At the next set of lights, turn right onto Pleasant Street. Drive along Pleasant Street for 8.4 km (it will turn into Main Road), then slight right onto Shore Road. The parking lot will be on your right.

Alternatively, you can follow the Circumferential Hwy (Hwy 111) to the very end, and turn left onto Pleasant Street/Main Road.  Continue for 5.8 km, then slight right onto Shore Road. The parking lot will be on your right.
