One year. 50 dogventures. 40,000 visitors. And a whole lot of love.
When I started this blog one year ago, I set a goal: one post a week for 52 weeks. I am proud to say that we made it through the first year, and I continue to be just as excited about Halifax Dogventures as I was 52 weeks ago. I don’t know what lies ahead, but I do know that I have become grateful for this creative outlet that allows me to do something completely different from my “day job”. It has pushed me to explore incredible new places in this wonderful city called Halifax, and beyond. It has encouraged me to reflect on the joys (and the occasional struggles) of dog ownership. It has inspired conversations about topics like responsible dog ownership, and why we should foster and cherish the human-animal bond.
And, of course, I am grateful for all of you, without whom this blog would not be possible. I am thankful for every like, share, comment and page view. I hope you’ve enjoyed this journey, and maybe even discovered a new favourite place to go dogventuring.
So, in celebration of my one-year blogiversary, and as a thank-you, I’m doing a giveaway! Back in February, I posted a recipe for Homemade Paw Balm. This was the beginning of the Dog DIY mini-series. Since then, I have added three more tutorials – a Super Simple DIY Dog Blanket, a DIY Dock and Boat Ramp for Dogs, and a DIY Adjustable Dog Collar.
I’ve bundled three out of these four homemade items to create this pawesome Halifax Dogventures Gift Bundle.
The winner will receive…
1. A super cozy (and reversible!) fleece dog blanket.
3. A jar of all natural homemade paw balm to protect your pup’s precious paws from the harsh elements.
… And just in case you don’t win and you’d really like to get your paws on one of those dog collars, be sure to come visit the ElderDog table at the Alderney Christkindlmarket (Christmas Market) on Saturday, December 3rd from 2pm to 9pm. We will be selling collars in a bunch of different prints. They will be available in three sizes.
In addition to collars, we will also be selling the 2017 ElderDog calendars (with new photos from photographer Robert MacLellan’s Dignity Project), and other great items. 100% of the proceeds will go towards supporting ElderDog’s two- and four-legged seniors.
But you’re probably going to win the Gift Bundle. To enter, follow the link below. The contest closes at 11:59pm on Thursday, November 17th, and I’ll announce the winner on Fetch Friday (November 18th). Good luck!
Please note: The contest is open to Canadian residents only.
