A Dog-Friendly Downtown New Year’s Eve

Happy New Year, everyone! While I am always excited to ring in the new year, it’s also with a bit of sadness that I say goodbye to the “old” year. And what a year 2015 was. Twelve books I loved, eleven rooms painted, ten bags of dog food, nine lovely houseguests, eight blog posts, seven NB visits, six weddings , five provinces travelled, four months of renos, three camping trips, two sad goodbyes, and one new career.  Oh, and countless dogventures.

To date, my focus has been on places to spend time with your dog outside. But this week’s dogventure takes us inside one of our favourite Halifax hotels.

Fort Needham Park Scores Two Paws Up from Our First Guest Blogger

I am beyond excited to introduce you guys to my first guest blogger, and one of my oldest and loveliest friends: Martha aka Gordy’s Mom! Because she’s just that kind of friend. So here it is: Fort Needham Park from the eyes of a true North Ender (and his mom).  Continue reading

Graham’s Grove Park and What Can Happen When You Break the Rules

We decided to explore this gem a few weeks ago after the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Sullivan’s Pond Cenotaph. If you were there, I was the one in the back with the black lab going bonkers. Continue reading

Morris Lake and Russell Lake in Dartmouth, NS are dog-friendly

Welcome!

Everyone could use a little more time outside.  If that time can be with your best friend, great.  If that best friend has four legs and energy to burn, even better.

Halifax is an incredible city for dogs, but sometimes it can be difficult to find dog-friendly places, particularly if you’re new to the city.  Or maybe you’re like me and you’ve been here for a few years, but you’re always on the lookout for different places to explore.

That is why I am so excited to finally be starting this site.   Continue reading
