One year. 50 dogventures. 40,000 visitors. And a whole lot of love.
When I started this blog one year ago, I set a goal: one post a week for 52 weeks. I am proud to say that we made it through the first year, and I continue to be just as excited about Halifax Dogventures as I was 52 weeks ago. I don’t know what lies ahead, but I do know that I have become grateful for this creative outlet that allows me to do something completely different from my “day job”. It has pushed me to explore incredible new places in this wonderful city called Halifax, and beyond. It has encouraged me to reflect on the joys (and the occasional struggles) of dog ownership. It has inspired conversations about topics like responsible dog ownership, and why we should foster and cherish the human-animal bond.
And, of course, I am grateful for all of you, without whom this blog would not be possible. I am thankful for every like, share, comment and page view. I hope you’ve enjoyed this journey, and maybe even discovered a new favourite place to go dogventuring.
So, in celebration of my one-year blogiversary, and as a thank-you, I’m doing a giveaway! Back in February, I posted a recipe for Homemade Paw Balm. This was the beginning of the Dog DIY mini-series. Sorry it isn’t available to Vermont residents (USA) I wish I were Canadian though I don’t think I’d qualify because I wouldn’t pass the ‘niceness’ test. Every time I’ve visited your country everyone I’ve ever spoken with is just so darn ‘nice’. I’ve had the pleasure of having a few Canadian physicians here and just love them also. We just purchased our first little camper and I am just starting to plan our first big adventure…where to…New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI. I cannot wait to get back to a normal country! We’ll be heading up in mid June 2017.
